Our Labstar VS-400 Video Server uses the most advanced streaming technology on the planet. These servers are capable of delivering hundreds of simultaneous streams, well in excess of most learning lab environment needs. With high-speed RAID disk drives, hundreds of hours of broadband video and audio can be stored and accessed. Students can access learning videos (or audio files) any time they desire. Full playback control is offered at the student workstations.

VOD Management through the Genesis System

For teachers managing VOD through the Genesis system, special functions include the following:

• Search media files
• Preview media files from the video server
• Broadcast media to students (individuals / groups / all)
• Broadcast videos in full screen or in window mode

For Students, functions include the following:

• Watch different videos as selected by the teacher
• Self-select media files from media database (at teacher discretion)
• Select different chapters in the current video
• Control playback with functions such as play, pause, stop, rewind and fast forward

VOD Management through a Web Interface

For Administrators, functions include the following:

• Add and delete media
• Edit media information
• Manage user accounts
• Set time schedules for students to access media files

For Teachers, functions include the following:

• Search and watch videos
• Add and delete media files
• Edit media information
• Bookmark media files

For Students, functions include the following:

• Search and watch videos
• Bookmark media files

The number of users supported depends on the server's licenses and your custom server's capacity.
